Ethics & Morals
Imagination and morality often meld to forge mighty and fantastical tales, much like the leaves of a mighty oak feeding the shallow tendrils of the vibrant maple. Paired with copious truths and outspoken diversity, these stories shall stand the test of time as they lovingly teach us to be better. These principles—such as empathy, equality, and individual freedom—provide a strong foundation that not only enriches character development but also creates narratives that resonate with diverse audiences. By threading these ideals into magical settings, writers can candidly explore complex themes of justice, tolerance, and coexistence, allowing readers to challenge prejudice and inspire hope.
And in a genre often defined by conflict and transformation, who doesn’t love hope?

Who likes boring characters or ethically stale conflict? You don’t deserve to retread a path in a corn field. You deserve towering pines blanketed in thick moss, sprawling cairns dotting misted hills, and thunderous clouds that command the sky above jagged mountains.
You deserve heroes that resonate and reflect. You deserve villains that channel the terrible truths of today’s world and the horrors beyond. You deserve a universe reminiscent of a thick and rich gumbo that hits all the right notes.
Diversity is the entire nervous system of my writing. Without it, I take no pride. Without it, I am nothing.

When I began writing in 2023, I made a promise myself to never let go of my tumultuous past as I wade through my prospective future. Each day I am confronted with these reminders:
1) Be truthful, even when the truth is ugly as sin.
2) Write bravely, even when the target gets smaller.
3) Stand tall, even when the fire encroaches.
4) Chain myself to the tree of altruism, even as the loggers rev their chainsaws.

Fuck A.I. It’s destroying our planet, and—as the kids say—is basic A.F. Waterlogged, brain hosed. A dry walnut with no taste. Lazy to a lazier degree. Soulless.
You will never find A.I. in my work.
